The Leandro Plan:

North Carolina’s roadmap for meeting the educational needs of EVERY CHILD.

  • We demand North Carolina enact the Leandro Plan, which was designed to address inequity and ensure adequate funding.

  • The Leandro Plan is part of a court order demanding children receive the constitutional standard of education.
  • The North Carolina Supreme Court had upheld the right to a sound, basic education, THREE TIMES, but the state legislature has refused to fund what’s needed.

This case was filed in 1994 to address access to educational programs and services in communities where children were being left behind.
