The Leandro Comprehensive Remedial Plan proposes several changes to North Carolina’s school finance system that will substantially increase the amount of state funding that goes to each district.

We created a tool to estimate how state funding will change in your district upon implementation of the Leandro Plan.

Advocates and policymakers should use these estimates to encourage their legislators to fund the plan and to begin local planning on how your district will deploy these new resources to meet the needs of your community.

EXPLORE:

  • How much funding will my district get?

The table contains values for total state-wide funding, or for individual districts/Local Education Agencies.

Districts can be selected from the drop down menu in the upper left corner of the table.

  • What can my district do with the additional funds?

The column on the right side of the table shows examples of what a district might choose to add based on the level of funding received.

Budget projection summaries by district

Our worksheets highlight how individual districts will benefit under the Leandro Plan.

Spanish language versions are available for some North Carolina public school districts; these documents are listed along with the English language version in the menu below.

In addition to the K-12 funding changes displayed above, the Leandro Plan will also impact state-funded EARLY EDUCATION programs serving children from birth to age 5.
